White Water Safety Courses
When using rivers it's important to be prepared and a competent member of the safety team . As a qualified BCAB White Water Tutor and with over 25 years experience of coaching and leading in the white water environment, Gav has the skills and knowledge needed to show you the ropes.

Intro to White Water Safety
Duration: 1 Day - The perfect introduction to safety for white water paddlers
No matter the craft you like to paddle, this course will support you to explore and practice simple strategies and safe skills that provide you with the tools to solve common paddling issues, in grade 2 white water conditions, providing peace of mind when venturing out as part of a led group/ team of peers.
This course is open to anyone of any age.

Please note, this course replaced the White Water Safety and Rescue course (WWSR) on the 1st November 2023, however both the WWS and WWSR are recognised as pre requisites for qualifications such as White Water Leader, Raft Guide Grade 2 etc.
White Water Safety
Duration: Two Days
This course will support you to consider safe practices, provide practical solutions to common issues and appropriate responses to incidents, providing peace of mind when venturing out onto the rivers.
The 2 day course is aimed at those paddling as peers and covers a range of topics that include emergency planning & procedures, chase boating, equipment rescues and scenarios and much more.This course is designed to support paddlers to be independent participants on grade 2(3) white water rivers. Paddlers can access the course with their preferred craft which can include kayaks, rafts, canoes and stand up paddleboards.
